ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Just imagine a school where everyone is happy because they are successful in what they do and receives support for their initiative.
Here the children can experiment and turn their craziest ideas into projects.
They can even create new and lift old school rules on equal footing with the adults.
This is a school where there is no mandatory homework and no school bell, school where children love to go to, and can’t wait to come back to from the holidays.
Mistakes are not frown upon, for every result teaches something new. Children have a lot of time for play, creativity, sports, free interactions with each other and activities in the nature.
Education should not be one annoying obligation, it should be the natural outcome to everyone's innate curiosity.
We believe that learning is a continuous process and could happen in various ways.
We want our children to know and feel that their future depends on their own actions and decisions, in that manner they grow active and responsible citizens in their community.
What is your wish for your child’s education?
MEET PRIVATE HIGH SCHOOL „DEMOCRATIC EDUCATION VARNA“
We are the first school in Bulgaria to receive a license for developing democratic educational model.
The 100-year-old example of Alexander Neil and the initiative of Jacob Hecht to create free school communities around the world inspired and motivated a handful of parents in Varna to start one here.
Since its beginning seven years ago, the school has been gathering children of parents who have realized the need for a qualitative change in education. These are parents who have dared to entrust the future of their children on the strength of their own personal potential.
We are located in Varna, in the middle of a forest, overlooking the sea. The natural environment, the quiet, the fresh air and open spaces are major strenght of the new home for our school.
I can choose what to study and when. I have a lot more time to play outside and do acrobatics.
I love being outside! We have a big yard and a forest.
The teachers are interested in us and, if I didn't understand something, they repeat it to me without getting angry.
The teachers are my friends. Some of them are my mentors - we talk and play together.
We have a large yard with a swing, forest and climbing trees.
We have freedom and we are together. Here, no one is more important than the other - we are equal, and the teachers are our friends.
Dancing and drawing are my favorite activities.
When there's architecture class, don't look for me to play. I love to build.
I am learning English because I will need it to travel the world.
Entering the school for the first time, young and old children extended their hand to meet each other with the words "I'm glad..." I was very pleasantly surprised by their attitude towards an unknown adult.
